Apart from his role as the new leader of the company, Santiago will also be actively involved in our trading and marketing activities, first and foremost in sulfuric acid, but also in fertilizers. Santiago looks back to a successful career as a trader and as an executive, having spent more than twenty years in the global commodities markets. His most recent assignments were with Trammo where he was a Senior Vice President and Member of the Executive Board, and thereafter with Tricon in Zurich where he was a Managing Director and Member of the Executive Committee. "This is a special day for Hexagon and for me personally, as Santiago and I have spent the major part of our professional lives together. It is great to be in the same team again", says Christian Wendel who will now become Executive Chairman of Hexagon. Santiago is a citizen of Spain, and he is residing in Zurich together with his wife Elena and his daughters Sofia and Alexia.
